There is hope in agony

There is hope in agony

Last August 22, 2010 a gloomy Sunday afternoon we paid visit to Grace (not her real name) a Bible college student who was confined in Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) because of dengue virus.  Purposely that visitation was simply to monitor the health status of the said student and of course to offer words of prayer for her.  While we were walking on the aisle of that hospital God was seemingly opened my sight to see souls who are panting for hope.  From one ward to another I saw the faces of patients covered with struggles.  And when we got inside the ward where Grace was, I couldn’t ignore the feeling of passion during that moment to share the joy, peace, and hope of prayer we have in Christ to those souls around us who are laying on the bed of agony.

I really felt that there was small voice telling me to grab the opportunity of sharing Christ to those who are in need.

Women of Hope : The gift of grace

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease. More and more people are getting this disease in many countries, because germs are becoming resistant to medicines that were once used to treat the disease. Tuberculosis is a disease caused by TINY germs. Having TB is serious because the TB germs eat away at the tissue of infected organs. This can cause death.

In our spiritual life, we too are not aware of the tiny germs that are being transmitted to us; tiny germs that we call SIN in our lives. The Bible says in 1 John, Chapter 1, verse 9, “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness”. Now, does this mean we can live any way we want and keep on sinning? NO! In Galatians, Chapter 5, verse13, it says: “It is to freedom that you have been called, only BE CAREFUL that freedom does not become MERE opportunity for your sinful nature”. The Bible goes on to say: “You should be free to serve each other, in love”. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified (or died) to their sinful passions and desires. Let us not become boastful, challenging one another and envying one another.

TB, if not treated can cause death. Our sins, if not forgiven, can cause death… spiritual death. Let us bring our sins and confess them to our Savior Jesus Christ. Remember, He died for our sins and His blood sets you free.
